Wesleyan Class of 2023 Admissions Statistics

Wesleyan University has wrapped up its admissions process for the Class of 2023. In all, 13,358 students applied to Wesleyan in the hope of earning a slot in its Class of 2023; the figure represents a new benchmark for the Middletown, Connecticut-based institution. Of these students, 2,114 earned admission. 403 of these students earned admission during the Early Decision cycle for which there are two rounds, while 22 earned admission through QuestBride, and nine are American veterans who earned a slot through the nonprofit Posse Foundation. Between the two rounds of Early Decision as well as Regular Decision, the admit rate stands at 15.8%.
Breakdown of the Wesleyan Class of 2023 Admits
As reports Christian Camerota for News & Wesleyan in a piece entitled “Following Record Applications, Wesleyan Admits Historically Diverse Class of 2023,” Admitted students to Wesleyan’s Class of 2023 hail from 58 nations; in fact, 13% of admits are international. 49% identify as students of color, a figure that’s up from 45% for the Class of 2022. 54% identify as female, while 46% identify as male. 14% will be the first in their families to attend college. 10% are the relative of a Wesleyan alum. “Prepared to work across the full Wesleyan curriculum, more than 80% of admitted students have taken calculus (89%), biology/chemistry/physics (84%), and four years of foreign language study (82%) as part of their high school preparatory studies. Fifty percent of admitted students applied for need-based financial aid, with Wesleyan meeting the full demonstrated need for all those admitted.”
