We’re not certain why NYU’s Office of Institutional Research ceased sharing these figures, especially when NYU’s peer institutions aren’t typically cagey with their numbers. And we call on NYU’s Office of Institutional Research to release these figures for the Class of 2029 and thereafter.

Yet from the waitlist admissions statistics NYU has shared — for the Classes of 2016 through 2014 (only the total number of applicants waitlisted were released for the Class of 2017) — the school’s waitlist admission rate has ranged from a low of 7.87% to a high of 52.36%. Over these three admissions cycles, an average of 320 students earned admission off the waitlist.
