The Ivy Coach Daily
Babson Acceptance Rate & Admission Statistics

Babson College, a prestigious private college located in Wellesley, Massachusetts, is a rising star among selective universities. Its highly regarded MBA and undergraduate business programs make it an exciting prospect for those considering a career in the corporate sector. However, it’s important to note that Babson’s acceptance rate is declining, a trend seen at comparable institutions. Is Babson really all that, or is it just smoke and mirrors? Ivy Coach is here to dispel the smoke and look at what’s really happening at this New England school.
Why is Babson’s acceptance rate on a downward trajectory? It could be partially due to the rising value of a college education worldwide. As more and more students, both domestically and internationally, seek out higher education, not enough new schools or programs are cropping up to meet their needs. Babson is one of the fortunate schools to see their proverbial ships rise with the tides amidst this trend. But that’s not the only reason Babson’s acceptance rate has dipped into the teens for the Class of 2028. Read on to find out more!
Babson College’s Acceptance Rate Over the Last Ten Years
Babson College Class Year | Overall Acceptance Rate |
Class of 2029 | Not Yet Released |
Class of 2028 | 19.74% |
Class of 2027 | 22.35% |
Class of 2026 | 25.00% |
Class of 2025 | 26.97% |
Class of 2024 | 26.41% |
Class of 2023 | 24.41% |
Class of 2022 | 24.18% |
Class of 2021 | 24.59% |
Class of 2020 | 26.30% |
Class of 2019 | 26.31% |
Class of 2018 | 28.21% |
In the last ten years, Babson’s acceptance rate has slowly but surely declined by 8.47% — and Ivy Coach’s famously accurate crystal ball predicts that it will only continue to show more declines as time goes on. But Babson’s ascendant reputation likely isn’t the only factor causing this shift. There’s something else at play.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Babson and many other schools of its caliber opted for a test-optional admissions policy during the 2021-22 cycle. As so often happens when schools make this change, Babson’s applicant pool to the Class of 2026 was flooded with “squeakers,” Ivy Coach’s term for the sneaky students who attempt to squeak into a school they’re not qualified for by withholding test scores. This may account for the relatively steep decline in acceptance in that and subsequent cycles, after several years in which Babson’s acceptance rate stayed roughly the same or even increased. Squeakers, after all, usually aren’t granted admission.
Does this mean Babson’s admissions data was artificially deflated and won’t stand the test of time? Well, as is the case with such things, only time will tell. However, prospective students who want to get into Babson don’t have this kind of time. They need a surefire strategy to get into Babson now. Fortunately, Ivy Coach’s team of former elite college admissions officers will help your Babson-bound child optimize their odds of admission by harnessing the power of a compelling singular hook.
Ivy Coach’s Assistance with Babson Acceptance
At Ivy Coach, we understand that strategy and forethought are key to any successful venture, business or otherwise. Our unique approach is designed to guide academically ambitious high schoolers toward the schools of their dreams. We start by dispelling the many misconceptions that can hinder the path to an elite school, such as the myth of the well-rounded applicant. Babson admissions officers value students who have distinguished themselves with one unique, weird, and often small pursuit: a singular hook. We can help your child develop this singular hook to set them apart.
However, we don’t blame you if you’re having trouble absorbing all of this new information. A lot has changed in the college admissions process since the 1980s. It’s our job to steer your child in the right direction by helping them develop a singular hook that blows Babson away.
